BREAKING! Press Secretary Peskov: Putin Offers Moratorium on Missiles on Europe, Offer Refused!
Press Secretary to the President Dmitry Peskov commented today on the president's address to the leaders of international organizations.
Let me remind you that the Russian president proposed to introduce a moratorium on the deployment of short and intermediate range missiles in Europe and other regions despite the disruption of the relevant treaty between Russia and the USA.
Dmitry Peskov pointed out that this address didn't require a response, however, it wasn't appreciated either, as the Press Secretary Peskov noted.
Dmitry Peskov: «President Putin carries on with his efforts to avoid increasing tension and destabilization of the situation concerning global security and stability in case of the deployment of short and intermediate range missiles, which used to be banned. So, Putin called to avoid deploying these weapon systems. It doesn't require any response. At the same time, however, our initiative hasn't been appreciated. Russian hasn't violated the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty in either spirit or letter. On the contrary, we continue to accuse the USA of the violation of the terms of the INF Treaty in a consistent and well-argued manner».
